The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a recent spate of more than 20 overnight residential break-and-enters while the homeowners were home.
The Toronto Police are investigating two clusters of break-ins which they believe may have been committed by the same individual.
- On Saturday, November 23, 2019/Sunday November 24, 2019, there were 7 overnight break-ins east of Kipling Ave., north of Dundas St. West.
- On Sunday, November 24, 2019/Monday, November 25, 2019, there were 7 overnight break-ins east and west of Royal York Rd., south of Bloor St. West.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, wearing a tracksuit.
Police have advised that this individual has been targeting many homes in a specific area during the overnight hours while residents are at home and presumably asleep. It is believed that the suspect looks for unlocked doors and/or windows (cutting through screens if necessary) and steals cash and other small items that can be easily hidden while walking down the street. We have received no reports of injuries to the homeowners.
Police are urging all residents to lock all windows and doors at night and to be on the lookout for anyone suspicious on or near their property.

It is reported that:
- The suspect entered all the homes through unlocked doors and windows on Saturday, November 23, 2019, and Sunday, November 24, 2019
- He is described as a white man, in his 30s, and was wearing a tracksuit
Police are asking the public to be vigilant and ensure that all doors and windows are locked prior to going to sleep.
